The Met: Live in HD at Peterborough Players
Der Rosenkavalier - Saturday, January 9

Peterborough, NH (December 23, 2009) – The Met: Live in HD simulcast of the opera Der Rosenkavalier, by Richard Strauss, will be at the Peterborough Players on Saturday, January 9th at 1 PM. Tickets are affordably priced at $25 adults, $20 students.

Strauss’s comic masterpiece of love and intrigue in 18th-century Vienna stars Renée Fleming as the aristocratic Marschallin and Susan Graham in the trouser role of her young lover. Music Director James Levine conducts a cast that also includes Kristinn Sigmundsson, Eric Cutler, Christine Schäfer, and Thomas Allen. Approximate running time is 3 hours with 2 intermissions. Casting is subject to change without notice.

The Players' 250-seat theatre has been filled with enthusiastic audience members who are creating a following for each of the nine simulcast operas in this 2009-2010 HD series. Der Rosenkavalier is the 5th in the series, with Carmen on its heels on January 16th. A discount package for the five 2010 operas is available at $115.
