The Opera Hamlet at Peterborough Players
The Met: Live in HD on March 27th

Peterborough, NH (March 9, 2010) – Shakespeare’s characters take the stage at the Metropolitan Opera in this new production of Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet, simulcast at the Peterborough Players theatre on March 27th at 1:00 PM. Simon Keenlyside and Marlis Petersen bring their extraordinary acting and singing skills to this unforgettable drama.

For the role of Ophelia, the French composer created an extended mad scene that is among the greatest in opera. Conducted by Louis Langrée, produced by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser, with Jennifer Larmore, Toby Spence, and James Morris joining Keenlyside and Petersen onstage. Approximate running time is 3 hours 45 minutes with 1 intermission. Casting is subject to change without notice.
