FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Heartbreak House Opens August 19th
Shaw’s Classic a Timeless Social Commentary

Peterborough, NH (August 13, 2009) – Heartbreak House, a comedy by George Bernard Shaw, opens at the Peterborough Players professional theatre on August 19th. The show, which runs through August 30th, examines an affluent society coasting blindly toward its demise. This show has a cast of seasoned Peterborough Players actors, including Kraig Swartz, James Whitmore Jr., Lisa Bostnar, Jack Koenig, Michael Page, Pamela Bob, Dee Nelson, and George Morfogen.

In this witty, provocative social commentary, Shaw’s characters expose a complacent society on the brink of profound social change and a World War. This theme is as timely today as it was when Heartbreak House was first written, in 1917.
