(Mushnik, Little Shop of Horrors; Mazzini Dunn, Heartbreak House) Michael returns to the Players for his 11th season, having made his Peterborough debut in 1998 in Ten Little Indians and You Never Can Tell. Last summer he appeared as Lord Caversham in An Ideal Husband and Editor Webb in Our Town. Other Players performances include George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Gaev in The Cherry Orchard (Best Supporting Actor, New Hampshire Theatre Awards), Hobson in Hobson’s Choice (Best Actor, New Hampshire Theatre Awards), Andrew Wyke in Sleuth, Frank in Educating Rita, and Richfield Hawksley in Laughing Stock (Best Supporting Actor, New Hampshire Theatre Awards). He has performed and directed in many theatres in Michigan, where he lives with his wife Jane and two daughters, Camilla and Chloe (all of whom will be working at the Players this season on house management). He was associated with the BoarsHead Theatre in Lansing for 15 years, where some of his favorite roles were Vladimir in Waiting for Godot (directed by Gus Kaikkonen), Gloucester in King Lear (directed by Douglas Campbell), Aunt Augusta in Travels with My Aunt, and Trigorin in The Sea Gull. He has recorded well over a hundred books on tape, including Great Expectations, The Three Musketeers, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. He is Professor of Theatre at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he has directed Jane Eyre, Arcadia, The Return of the Prodigal and Dead Man Walking, and most recently appeared as Prospero in The Tempest.
