Players Present "A Life In Letters" May 21 May 11, 2005 Contact:
The performance includes letters from authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Jack Kerouac, Emily Dickinson and Mark Twain. Other well-known figures represented include Amelia Earhart, Elvis Presley and Eugene V. Debs. Many other letters from lesser-known yet as eloquent Americans are featured in the performance. Each letter is deeply felt and beautifully written, and the combination of the missives speaks to the many stages of a person’s life. The readers for “A Life in Letters” are Peterborough Players acting company members Lisa Bostnar, Jon L. Egging, Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen, and Kathy Manfre. This event is a fundraiser to support the Peterborough Players’ season. Tickets cost $40 and include the pre-show reception with substantial hors d’oeuvres and open bar, the performance and the dessert reception. Tickets may be reserved at the Players box office, (603)924-7585. The Peterborough Players is sponsored in part by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Hampshire Humanities Council, the A. Erland and Hazel M. Goyette Memorial Fund, and the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation. The 2005 Media Sponsor is the Keene Sentinel.
