| Reading of Play LITTLE
WOMEN at the Hancock Library July 26, 2005 Contact: Jon L. Egging, Marketing Director, (603) 924-9344 The Peterborough Players Second Company, which is made up of members of the Peterborough Players Intern and Apprentice Company, will do a reading of their upcoming production Little Women at the Hancock Library on August 4th at 10 am. This show has been adapted and will be directed by Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen from the classic American novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. The full production will run at the Players August 20, 22, 24, 26, and 27. Under the guidance of their beloved mother, the four young March sisters -- tempestuous Jo, motherly Meg, shy Beth, and spoiled baby Amy -- struggle to keep their family going while their Father is away fighting in the Civil War. In this beautifully dramatized adaptation of the classic novel, even as privation, illness, and sibling rivalry cast their shadows, each girl strives to find her true self. Little Women is recommended for ages 8 and up. The Hancock Library is located at 25 Main St, Hancock. For information or directions, please call the library at (603)525-4411. The Peterborough Players is sponsored in part by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Hampshire Humanities Council, the A. Erland and Hazel M. Goyette Memorial Fund, and the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation. The 2004 Media Sponsor is the Keene Sentinel. Season subscriptions are now on sale at the Players Box Office. For reservations and further information, call (603) 924-7585, or visit the Peterborough Players web site at www.peterboroughplayers.org. |
