Players and the William D. Eppes Endowment Present the Fourth Annual James
Whitmore Award August 23, 2005 Contact: Contact: Jon L. Egging, Marketing Director, (603) 924-9344, jlegging@peterboroughplayers.org A member of the Peterborough Players Second Company will be given the Fourth Annual James Whitmore Award sponsored by the William D. Eppes Endowment on Saturday, August 27th. The Award, $500.00 and a medal, was established through the generosity of Mr. William D. Eppes, and is presented to an outstanding member of the Second Company. Previous winners were Dan Hodge, Will Ryan Frasier, and current Player’s staff member Jose Docen. The Second Company is made up of interns and apprentices from around the country who hope to make a career of the theatre. Over the course of the season these young people work on all aspects of the theatre, doing everything from maintaining the grounds of the theatre and building the sets and costumes, to working with professional actors onstage and running all technical aspects of shows. They also perform two shows. This season those shows were Jack and the Beanstalk and the current offering, Little Women. The award ceremony will take place after the final performance of Little Women on Saturday the 27th. The show starts at 2pm and the ceremony will begin at approximately 3:30. Tickets are still available for the show and are $10.00 each. There is no charge for the award ceremony. The public is invited to attend the presentation. You do not have to attend the performance to go to the award ceremony. The Peterborough Players is sponsored in part by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the A. Erland and Hazel M. Goyette Memorial Fund, and the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation. The 2005 Media Sponsor is the Keene Sentinel. Season subscriptions are now on sale at the Players Box Office. For reservations
