Profitable Nonprofit Partnerships

Peterborough Players Teams Up with Local Nonprofits

Times might be challenging, but nonprofits are finding ways to help each other as they continue to fulfill their own missions to serve the community.

Saturday, June 27th, the Players teams up with the Recreational Allies Network (RAN) www.recreationallies.org), a nonprofit that provides recreation and socialization opportunities for students with developmental disabilities and their peers within the community. The Saturday performance of the Rudyard Kipling children’s show, Just So Stories, at 10:30 a.m. will be to benefit RAN. Tickets ($8 & $10) at the Players Box Office, 924-7585.

Four more benefits for local nonprofits are slated throughout the 2009 Peterborough Players season. The next up will be for The New Hampshire Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHHPCO) www.nhhpco.org. This benefit will be on the dress rehearsal night of The Breath of Life, Tuesday, June 30. The reception will begin at 6:30, followed by the play. Tickets ($35) through NHHPCO: Anne Hebert at 321-4477 or 673-3769.

The Family Center, www.thefamilycenter.us, will partner with the Players for the dress rehearsal night of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. A wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at 6:45 p.m. will be followed by the play on Tuesday, July 14. Tickets ($30) available through The Family Center, 924-6306.

Stay tuned for fundraising events for the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention and Monadnock Developmental Services later in the season. With these partnerships, everybody comes out a winner; the Peterborough Players, the other nonprofits they are teaming up with, and the audiences. Instead of fighting for a piece of the pie, the Players is creating a whole new recipe.
